Environmental reporting, verified

Spot it. Report it.
Watch it disappear.

RefuseRadar turns a dirty corner into verified environmental data and real cleanup in under a minute. Every report is AI-scored for dirtiness, air quality and health hazard and its recoverable potential, from biogas to compostable nutrients then confirmed by nearby Ambassadors before it counts.

How it works

From a dirty corner to verified data

Three steps turn a phone camera into an environmental sensor network no new hardware, no municipal form to fill out.

Step 1

Report a site in seconds

Snap a photo or short video, drop a pin, tag a category done. On-device checks keep bystanders out of frame automatically.

Step 2

AI tells you how bad it is

Every report gets a dirtiness, air-quality, and health-hazard estimate in minutes plus a directional estimate of recoverable value if the waste is diverted.

Step 3

Earn Ambassador status for real impact

Verified cleanups build your tier a real reputation, not a badge for showing up. Nearby neighbors validate what's true before it counts.

The product

One app, every step of the story

From first launch to tier-up, here's exactly what a report's journey looks like inside RefuseRadar.

Onboarding

A welcome built for a thirty-second first impression

New users land on the mission, not a form. One tap into a three-step value carousel, then straight to their first report.

  • Email, phone, Google or Apple sign-in
  • Optional two-factor security setup
  • Location & camera permissions explained up front

A real environmental score, not a guess

Within range of a site, a report opens fully interactive: the AI's dirtiness / air-quality / health-hazard breakdown, a trend line, validator status, and a discussion thread plus the option to request validators or mark it cleared.

  • Impact score and recoverable-value estimate, side by side
  • Confidence level shown alongside every AI estimate
  • Comment, request validators, or mark cleared in one tap

Report Detail · Potential

What if this waste became a resource instead?

Flip the same report to its "Potential" tab and the AI reframes the exact same site as a circular-economy opportunity a directional estimate of the biogas, soil nutrients, and land it could generate if diverted for processing instead of left to pile up.

  • Modeled from waste composition and estimated volume
  • Biogas output, homes powered, manure and cropland equivalents
  • The same field the public API exposes to researchers and circular-economy startups

Peer Validation

Trust comes from neighbors, not self-attestation

Reporters pick 2–5 nearby Ambassadors to confirm what they filed. Validators can confirm or query anything that looks off before a report ever influences an area's ranking.

  • Search & select nearby validators by distance
  • "Query" flags a mismatch instead of a silent reject
  • Feeds directly into each Ambassador's reputation score

RefuseRadar — verified waste collection illustration
About us

We're building the missing sensor network for urban sanitation

Most cities don't lack sanitation policy they lack reliable, real-time data about where waste is piling up, how severe it is, and whether cleanup crews actually cleared it. RefuseRadar closes that loop with the device that's already in everyone's pocket: a phone camera, an AI scoring pipeline, and a peer-validation layer that keeps the data honest.

We started in Lagos, Nigeria one of the fastest-growing, highest-density cities on the continent, and a proving ground for exactly the kind of environmental reporting gap RefuseRadar is built to close. The product is designed from day one to work the same way in the next city, and the next country: map-first, AI-scored, and API-accessible for the refuse haulers and sanitation departments who ultimately have to act on it.

RefuseRadar runs on a cloud-native stack real-time maps, an AI/ML scoring pipeline, and a growing Ambassador network architected to scale from a handful of neighborhoods to an entire country without a rebuild.
